Position Overview
Turnkey Energy is seeking an experienced Service Technician with a strong solar and electrical background to support both residential and commercial solar PV systems. This role requires advanced troubleshooting expertise, strong technical judgment, and the ability to work independently in the field while maintaining Turnkey Energy’s quality and safety standards.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically proficient, and experienced with industry-leading inverter and monitoring platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar PV systems
- Perform corrective maintenance, warranty service, and system upgrades
- Troubleshoot inverters, battery storage systems, monitoring platforms, and electrical components
- Identify and resolve underproduction issues, communication failures, and electrical faults
- Interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and construction plans
- Ensure compliance with NEC requirements, AHJ standards, and company safety policies
- Document service findings, corrective actions, and recommendations accurately
- Communicate effectively with customers, operations staff, and project managers
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on solar service experience (residential and commercial)
- Strong electrical background in solar or related electrical systems
- Active manufacturer certifications (required):
- SolarEdge
- Enphase
- Generac
- Proven experience troubleshooting inverters, batteries, gateways, and monitoring systems
- Solid understanding of NEC and solar electrical best practices
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to safely perform rooftop and field work and lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with energy storage systems and backup power solutions
- Prior service-focused role (O&M or service technician vs. installation only)
- Leadership or mentoring experience
