Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Payroll Manager, this position will support all functions of payroll. This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some flexibility in hours allowed.
Salary Range: $50,000.00-60,000.00 annually
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Process payroll timely and accurately, including compiling and processing payroll data related to all earnings, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
- Verify accuracy of time-entry and resulting pay implications, for each brand, and identify errors that affect payroll processing
- Maintains accurate payroll records
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
- Interpret and adhere to company policies affecting payroll procedures
- Liaise with the HR and accounting departments to ensure accurate information is updated and maintained for payroll, and resolve any payroll discrepancies
- File relevant reports and documents as needed
- Verify employee records and consult departments in the event of a discrepancy
- Provide customer service, and problem resolution to all employees regarding payroll items; and track inquiries to assist in identifying necessary training guides and subsequent development of training guides
- Process necessary payroll changes, such as bonuses
- Prepare and submit payroll reports to supervisor or department managers
- Assist in training of new payroll staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Experience with Kronos payroll software a plus
Education and Experience:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field, preferred
- Additional certification issued by the American Payroll Association, desired
- Minimum of one to two years of experience in payroll processing working in a fast-paced environment
