The Job: 
We are seeking enthusiastic instructors who specialize in tutoring math and language arts at the elementary and middle school levels. Comfort with classes like Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and/or Calculus are a bonus. Spanish fluency is also a bonus.  Core competencies with teaching the subject to children aged 5 to 14 are the priority.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Coaching and guiding students to meet their academic goals
  • Tutoring multiple subjects effectively
  • Strengthening students’ study habits and identifying how each student learns best
  • Motivating students who need that extra oomph
  • Working with up to three students at a time
  • Being engaging, nimble, and professional
  • Keeping detailed records of tutoring sessions

Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university (or currently enrolled in a degree program leading to a bachelor’s degree)
  • 1 years of previous tutoring experience (previous teaching experience is not required, but is a plus)
  • Reliable transportation 
  • Ability to work SOME of the following: Monday through Thursday from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Our peak hours are Monday through Thursday 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, so applicants should be available for those hours at minimum.
  • Ability to commit to one year with Tutoring Club
