Position Description
The Managing Consultant will be a proven leader, comfortable balancing people leadership & development, account management, and Twelve strategic initiative ownership in a fast-paced environment. Change will be constant and the successful candidate must be comfortable shifting gears quickly to adjust strategy or capitalize on new opportunities. The Managing Consultant must be prepared to take on challenges as they arise, and assist in coming up with innovative ideas and solutions. As a leader within the organization, the Managing Consultant must be a culture champion, DEI advocate and model Twelve’s Core Values of Excellence, Collaboration, Personal Growth, and Well-Being. This person will manage a delivery team of direct reports consisting of Consultants, Senior Consultants, Solution Architects and Principal Solution Architects, in addition to a book of business.
This position is listed from our HQ in Minneapolis, MN but we are open to hiring candidates based out of our Chicago, IL location as well as candidates who are fully remote throughout the U.S.
What you’ll do:
- Lead, Develop, and Grow Delivery team:
- Recruitment
- Collaborate with Human Resources on recruiting and hiring, prioritizing technical and consulting aptitude, culture and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Twelve’s growth
- Responsible for conducting behavioral and technical interviews
- Hire, onboard and develop new delivery team members to keep pace with resource demand
- People Development
- Coach individuals to meet and exceed their role competencies. Advocate for individual’s growth including promotions
- Develop and execute on personal development plans, addressing strengths and growth areas of team members
- Manage individual and team utilization to target through intentional staffing and solutioning
- Conduct mid-year and annual reviews
- Utilize allotted budget for team events and professional growth opportunities
- Capacity and Resourcing
- Identify and secure growth opportunities through staffing
- Timely communication of resourcing to team members; ensure connections established that drive sufficient knowledge transfer
- Participate in project resourcing discussions and serve as primary escalation point for any staffing issues

- Coordinate introductory conversations with prospective clients, speaking about Twelve, our experience and our implementation methodology
- Act as primary liaison with Anaplan Account Executives and Customer Success. Register sourced deals & work with Anaplan to ensure co-sell or originate tagging on applicable deals
- Create and present proposals, managing the collaborative resource involvement through scoping and value proposition
- Ensure opportunities are managed through Twelve’s CRM processes and continually updated to reflect most accurate state
- Provide executive summary of pipeline opportunities to Twelve Leadership team
- Respond to RFPs and participate in on-site presentations with Anaplan sales teams

- Oversee portfolio of Twelve CG accounts. Manage collaboration with ESM, Twelve Delivery, Anaplan, the Client and third party partners as applicable
- Cultivate a Connect Planning journey through strategic account planning and long-term roadmapping, unlocking expand opportunities
- Complete all necessary legal documentation
- Coordinate knowledge transfer through resource introductions and transitions
- Manage project teams; Ensure project success and adherence to project methodology, timeline and budget. Hold project leads accountable for continued status updates and ensuring the proper health of their projects and accounts
- Attend project milestones which may include project kickoffs, sprint reviews, and project success meetings to provide executive oversight to project teams
- Act as escalation point for project needs, communicate directly with Directors of Delivery when additional assistance is needed
- Ensure one-team approach between Twelve staffed team and Anaplan’s dedicated CS and Sales resources

- Leader of Internal Initiatives that map to Twelve’s Overall Strategic Plan:
- Individual contributor, team lead, and owner of key initiatives to ensure Twelve is growing and evolving according to Strategic Plan
- Responsible for defining success metrics for potentially ambiguous goals and mapping critical-path activities to drive towards completion
- Work across disparate groups internally to coordinate activities towards the achievement of a common goal
- Harness team insight into and understanding of Strategic direction, advocate for delivery team involvement where there are synergies and interest
- Leader of Internal Initiatives that map to Twelve’s Overall Strategic Plan:
More about you:
- Experience building, developing, and leading teams in high-pressure environments
- Demonstrated expertise in growing junior resources, finding the balance between leading/mentoring and allowing proper delegation of critical tasks to drive more accountability and leadership opportunities
- Evolving expertise in core planning domains (Finance, Sales, Commercial Planning), Twelve specializations (Pharma GTN, CPG RGM), and Consulting
- Experience participating in Business Development initiatives including scoping, resourcing, and contract negotiations
- Excellent Account Management skills at existing customers, showing collaboration across multiple workstreams to ensure projects are hitting key deadlines and closely tracking to resource needs and budget requirements
- Experience growing existing client relationships and assisting in driving new business through those relationships
- Interest in building new relationships with Anaplan Sales and CS leaders to educate on Twelve’s value offering and differentiators
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base Salary
- Quarterly Incentive Compensation:
- Annual Bonus, payable quarterly
- 70% - Team Utilization, with potential accelerators to achieve 150% of Payout
- 20% - based on an Individual Utilization Target of 35% Twelve Productive hours
- 10% - MBOs developed with the Director of Delivery to expand People Management and Account Management initiatives
- Executive Coaching with Managing Consultant team from CO2 Partners
