We are looking for a Junior Gameplay Engineer to help bring our game world to life by implementing and refining gameplay content within Roblox. In this role, you will work closely with designers to integrate game mechanics, set up interactive elements, and ensure a smooth, engaging experience for players.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and integrate gameplay content using Roblox Studio and Lua scripting.
- Work closely with designers to bring features and mechanics to life.
- Set up and configure in-game assets, interactive objects, and gameplay systems.
- Debug and optimize content to ensure smooth performance.
- Collaborate with engineers and artists to refine existing features.
- Support iteration and polish of gameplay experiences to enhance player engagement.
Requirements:
- Experience working in Roblox Studio and scripting with Lua.
- Understanding of Roblox’s gameplay systems, physics, and UI mechanics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot gameplay issues.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Passion for game development and creating engaging player experiences.
- Familiarity with Roblox API and best practices for performance optimization.
- Experience with datastores, leaderboards, or gamepasses in Roblox.
- Understanding of animation and character interactions in Roblox Studio.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience designing and programming a high-quality Roblox game.
- Strong understanding of the Roblox community and player engagement strategies.
- Ability to work independently and in remote team environments.
- Additional game development skills, such as UI/UX design, game design, graphic design, audio design, 3D modeling, or texturing, to support engineering work.
Location:
This is a remote position, however; if you are based in our Las Vegas, NV headquarters, we are in-office Tuesday through Friday, with optional in-office work on Monday (unless otherwise noted). As a fast growing company we are also investigating relocation assistance for employees that wish to join us in Las Vegas.
