Title: TECHNOLOGY RESOURCE ASSISTANT
Reports to: Director of Curriculum
Description: Plans and implements learning strategies to enhance staff and student use of computer technology resources. Promotes an effective learning environment. Collaborates with teaching staff to plan effective lessons for technology integration and assists the classroom teacher in the computer lab when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Demonstrates experience in the training and use of technology applications in an educational setting.
· Meets all mandated health requirements.
· Documented evidence of a clear criminal record.
· Knowledge of the curriculum process.
· Expertise in the selection and use of software appropriate for diverse instructional settings and user abilities.
· Commitment to keeping current with technological advances.
Duties and Responsibilities:

· Develops and implements training programs that enhance staff and student computer skills.
· Helps staff and students use computers and peripherals.
· Upholds Board policies and follows administrative procedures.
· Promotes a favorable image of the school district.
· Keeps current with K-12 courses of study, the District’s scope and sequence framework, and State standards/guidelines.
· Works with the Director of Curriculum to identify technology resources that support the districts adopted course of study and continuous improvement plan.
· Works with teaching staff to improve student learning through the effective use of computer technology resources.
· Provides first level technology support to resolve problems.
· Reports unresolved or persistent problems to the technology staff.
· Assists with online testing (MAP, PARCC, etc).
· Assists teachers and staff with ProgressBook.
· Assists with maintaining building websites.
· Collaborates to prepare and present special topics for in-service programs.
· Prepares bulletin boards, display, and/or instruction sheets to introduce new computer technology resources to students and staff.
· Helps teachers identify and use computer resources that compliment individual teaching styles, build confidence and expand skills.
· Works with teachers to explore adaptations that address student’s individual learning styles.
· Implements effective classroom management procedures.
· Maintains high standards and upholds the student conduct code.
· Develops and maintains a positive learning environment.
· Upholds computer technology acceptable use policies.
· Respects personal privacy. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information.
· Reports evidence of suspected child abuse as required by law.
· Provides opportunities for students with disabilities to participate in appropriate peer group activities.
· Takes precautions to ensure student safety. Does not leave students unsupervised.
· Participates in open houses, parent conferences and other required school events.
· Participate in staff meetings and professional growth opportunities and deemed necessary.
· Accepts responsibility for decisions and conduct.
· Strives to develop rapport and serve as a positive role model for others.
· Performs other specific job-related duties as directed.

Working Conditions:

· Duties may require operating and/or riding in a vehicle.
· Duties may require prolonged use of a computer keyboard and monitor.
· Duties may require working under time constraints to meet deadlines.
· Duties may require working during the evening and/or weekend.
· Potential for exposure to danger in emergency situations (fire, intruder).
