About the Role
At Twitch, our community of streamers and viewers are at the heart of everything we build. The Community Design team defines the viewer and streamer experiences across our product ecosystem, building a cross-platform live streaming service that supports the growth of streamer-based communities. We are looking for a mobile-obsessed Principal Designer a newly formed mobile experience team. This role will be a senior role with growth opportunities in management and IC leadership, initially focused heavily on mobile design strategy and execution. This role will partner very with other product experience teams and the Core-UI design systems team.
You will be the key driver in defining a global strategy for the future of Twitch in the mobile space that is scalable and future-proof. You will use the foundational elements in our visual identity system to make decisions based on specific needs for native apps. You will work on customer problems for mobile only and mobile also customers, partnering with design leadership across the Community Design team. You'll help us paint a picture of an ecosystem of mobile experiences that work with one another to provide our users with the right value at the right time.
You Will:
- Define and evangelize the Twitch mobile design strategy across native mobile apps
- Collaborate on a cross-product, cross-surface design vision with design leads, directors and ICs
- Lead the development and delivery of designs for your cross functional team, while also enabling other design leads to own their part of the mobile experience
- Give back to the design community at Twitch by using and improving existing patterns and approaches
- Ensure our product exceeds standards and guidelines for accessibility
- Collaborate with UX Researchers and Data Analysts to validate, discover and test designs as needed
You Have:
- 7 years of UX-related work experience
- Prior experience designing for mobile surfaces across iOS/Android.
- Excellent interaction design and visual craft skills including some experience with prototyping mobile experiences
- Skills for collaborating with other designers, researchers, product managers and engineers
- Experience leading projects from discovery through shipping/iteration
