What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Operations Coordinator position at Two Families Law?
we’re seeking: an organized, experienced, compassionate and engaged administrative professional to join our growing, balanced, empathy-driven collaborative family law practice in Durham, NC.
about the role: our team of three needs your support! we’re looking for an organizer-empath who can help keep our office and practice organized, stocked, and thriving. the position will involve collaboration with one to two attorneys, our paralegal/client relations manager, and a practice administrator. this person will work directly with our client relations manager and assist as needed with various tasks including ones listed below.
the role will initially be for 10-20 hours per week, paid hourly as a contractor, with the possibility of increasing hours as mutually needed and desired. you’ll share our beautiful and cozy office space in the Lakewood neighborhood of Durham for 4-10 hours per week, with flexibility to work remotely as needed otherwise.
with training and leadership from the team, you will:
- answer the office phone manage voicemails;
- keep up with scanning, mailing filing (this includes trips to UPS);
- handle new client intake monthly invoicing;
- create social media content for our firm manage Squarespace website (if desired);
- keep our office looking fresh- stocking snacks and supplies, prepping conference rooms, keeping our space cozy; and
- assist with other responsibilities that may be assigned based on our needs your interests.
about two families: this special and growing practice opened in 2015. we practice exclusively outside of court to help separating families resolve the financial and legal issues of their marriage through collaborative divorce. our clients are kind, smart, vulnerable folks who want our intelligent guidance through a very difficult personal and legal transition. our team is deeply committed to growing happy lawyers, happy staff, healthy divorces.
you must have: an earnest interest in working with divorcing families, compassion for folks who are in
a rough season of life. respect and kindness for families of all backgrounds, shapes, colors, and
identities. badass ninja organizational skills, enthusiasm for working in a teamwork style, and bonus
points if you enjoy a good desk snack. patience with the flexible schedules of working parents. enough technology competence to learn our various pieces of software. be comfortable following up on late invoices and handling questions from people going through big emotional changes. excellent customer service and sensitivity. prior admin experience, or commensurate, is a must.
