Senior Mechanical Engineer
We are hiring an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a specialist engineering services firm in Reston, VA!
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget
- Design and develop mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) in compliance with industry standards
- Perform engineering calculations and simulations to support designs and optimize system performance
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing expert advice on design and system selection
- Oversee quality control, ensuring designs meet functional and safety standards
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical support and fostering professional development
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (structural, electrical, civil) to deliver integrated solutions
- Resolve complex technical issues during the design, installation, and operational phases
- Incorporate sustainable and energy-efficient practices into system designs
- Prepare reports, specifications, and progress updates for clients and internal teams
- Contribute to business development by preparing proposals, bids, and presentations for new projects
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained throughout project phases
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years of experience in mechanical design and coordination of complex systems
- Competency in BIM software including Revit MEP and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of fire protection systems
- Experience of project and client management
- P.E License required
- LEED Accreditation preferred
Salary: Between $120,000 to $150,000 per annum dependent on experience
