What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Head Sports Coach/Assistant Sports Coach position at U1 Sports?
U1 Sports/Fieldston Premier Sports Camp is an action-packed summer camp experience. Our campus has an Olympic size swimming pool, which our Aquatics Director oversees along with our Certified Red Cross Lifeguards. Our state-of-the-art gymnasium(s) and turf fields allow for all sporting activities to take place on campus grounds. Not to mention, our campus will be able to host our NEW Fun Fridays, which consist of camp-wide athletic competitions and action-packed activities such as paint-less paintball/laser tag, zip-lining, rock climbing, adventure ropes course, and water activities to name a few. Each athlete’s group activity changes on a daily basis. Each group will have 2 of the following sports and sessions on any given day. Basketball, Lacrosse, Soccer and Flag Football. We also offer Instructional swim.
We are seeking to hire Head & Assistant Sports Coaches for our 2023 Sports Camp located at the Fieldston School. This position is perfect for aspiring teachers, coaches or for those that simply enjoy making a positive impact on children's lives. Camp consists of two 3-week sessions with Session 1 starting June 26 and ending in July 14th & Session 2 starting July 17th and ending August 4th. Candidates must be able to commit to at least 1 session. Candidate applications who can commit to both sessions will be prioritized.
Requirements:
- Ability to conduct recreational activities with youth equipment operation.
- Ability to participate in physical activities such as swimming, field sports, and physical team building activities.
- Serve as a positive role model to all campers.
- Must be punctual and organized.
- Assist Campers in both physical and emotional needs.
- Communicate with Camp Leader when necessary.
- Genuinely care; engage and participate with campers.
- Problem solve through situations and seek assistance when necessary.
- Facilitate and/or Co-Facilitate structured and unstructured activities.
- Attend all camps staff meetings
- Help to maintain and secure all equipment and supplies of the program.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, caring, respectful environment.
- HAVE FUN!!!
Relations with others:
- Able to work with children ages 5-15 years old and able to work well with other Coaches.
To be considered a successful candidate, you must have related experience in recreation, sports, youth programs or summer camps.
