The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an Athletic Trainer. The Trainer has direct patient contact primarily for the evaluation and treatment of medical and musculoskeletal pathology consistent with the scope and practice of athletic training clinical competencies as defined by Board of Certification and the State of Alabama Athletic Training Affiliated Credentialing Board. This position will outline tasks with minimal or no supervision in the field and off the field. This position has access to and knowledge of confidential medical information regarding patients' medical history; access to this information is crucial in the evaluation and treatment of patients and athletes. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/and or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds is required.
Key Duties, Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide preventive and rehabilitative medical treatments of student athletes according to departmental protocol
- Maintain detailed records concerning injury/treatment status
- Oversee and supervise the activities of student and graduate assistants
- Assist with administration duties, such as reviewing of insurance and billing information and maintaining supply inventories

Annual Salary Range - $45,395 - $73,770
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical or Health Education, Exercise Physiology or a related field
- Two (2) years of related experience required
- Work experience may mot substitute for education requirement
- Currently certified as an Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC)
- Must obtain licensure for Athletic Training by the State of Alabama upon hire
