Position Summary:
As a Researcher Senior, you will have expanded responsibilities, overseeing complex or multiple research projects and providing strategic direction. This professional-level role involves mentoring junior researchers, managing project budgets, and ensuring the integrity and quality of research outcomes. Your expertise will be critical in guiding experimental design, data interpretation, and contributing to high-impact publications. Depending on the research focus, this position may involve research participant contact, research animal contact, and/or specimens.
This position will support a basic and translational research program that uses patient-derived organoids and murine models to understand how environmental signals (from diet, microbiome, and therapies) shape intestinal epithelial metabolism and regeneration in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease. This position will operate with minimal supervision in the lab of Dr. Babajide Ojo and support the PI by overseeing the laboratory activities, maintaining murine colony and patient-derived organoid database, exercise judgment in applying protocols and procedures, collect, record, maintain and analyze data and scientific literature, and oversee other lab members.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee projects within the laboratory and assume responsibility for the day-to-day operation of lab activities
- Contribute significantly to the planning/design of studies with minimal supervision.
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of mouse colony and patient-derived intestinal organoid lines.
- Perform complex lab experiments, analyze and interpret experimental data, and maintain detailed records of experiments
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations; maintain all records and forms
- Contribute to preparation of data needed for publications and grant application
- Supervise and train new trainees as needed.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams across projects involving clinical fellows, scientists and physicians
- Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range: $60,835 - $70,000
Doctorate degree in a related field OR Master's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree in related field and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

- Degree in a lab based science
