Job Summary

This individual assists directly or indirectly with patient treatments and other patient care activities under supervision of a Physical or Occupational Therapist, as well as carrying out non-patient care activities.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR
  • Experience as a Rehab Aide.
  • Experience with Hands on Patient Care.
  • Basic knowledge in Occupational and Physical Therapy Advanced judgment skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with hospital staff in a clear, concise, professional manner. Skill in organizing written material.
  • Knowledge of appropriate information required for patient and supply record keeping.
  • Skills and ability to work in stressful situations.
  • Tact and diplomacy skills.
  • Ability to provide and accept guidance and criticism.
  • Knowledge and skill in the use of email, Excel, Word, and ability/willingness to learn additional computer programs and systems.
  • Must see well enough to observe patient reactions and read relevant monitors, relevant device settings, and relevant written information.
  • Must hear and speak well enough to communicate with patients and staff throughout the day.
  • Must possess the physical strength to assist with patient mobility.
  • Must possess sufficient mobility to traverse the distances required to serve patients throughout the institution.
  • Must have basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year ICU Experience

Key Responsibilities

  • 65% - Assists therapist with patient treatment and patient care activities for routine patients, as directed by a therapist from predetermined therapy treatment plan.
  • 10% - Serves as a Departmental Lead Hospital Assistant(s)
  • 5% - Provides Backup Ordering System
  • 5% - Maintenance and Housekeeping Duties
  • 5% - Provides Support to Volunteer Program
  • 10% - Miscellaneous Assignments As Required

The primary purpose of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation - Operations is to provide a full range of rehabilitation services designed to restore patients to their optimal functional capacity.

Work Environment
