What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Coordinator - Neurosurgery position at UCHealth?

Summary:
Coordinates all aspects of surgery scheduling.

 

Work Schedule: Full Time Days

 

Responsibilities:
Schedules inpatient and outpatient surgical appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
Coordinates with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities, surgeon, staff and equipment.
Communicates with patients and/or their families to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and to confirm appointments.
Performs insurance verification and/or pre-authorizations as necessary.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.  Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.


Requirements:

  • Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: Relevant life support certification as determined at position level.
    Minimum Experience: None required.

The pay range for this position is: $20.26 - $26.34 / hour.  Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.  An annual bonus may be paid to eligible employees based upon organizational and individual performance.
