Position Title: Shipping Specialist
Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor
Regular Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Primary Job Duties
Responsible for all shipping-related duties including, but not limited to…
- Scanning/staging customer orders
- Verifying accurate quantities and condition of shipments
- Stacking and wrapping product
- Unloading and loading trailers
- Providing all paperwork for carriers and customers
- Signing for shipments
- Submitting ASNs in a timely manner
- Scheduling pickups (Fed Ex, UPS, LTL, etc.)
- Maintaining parts’ setup in E-RMS (EDI) system
- Maintaining carrier & customer setup in E-RMS
- Processing orders through E-RMS
- Checking gross requirements and creating shipping documents
- Contacting customers with questions and updates (Primary contact person)
- Contacting carriers with questions and updates (Primary contact person)
- Contacting Edibar for any E-RMS or Gentran needs
- Loading customer requirements into scheduling systems for each plant
- Generating work orders (BOMs) for all customer plants and documenting all created orders
- Printing shipping labels for all work orders
- Communicating any immediate needs, or “hot” orders to production
- Staying on top of design changes and working closely with Quality to ensure all required documentation such as IPPs accompany the appropriate orders
- Counting inventory
- Other tasks as required
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work on feet in non-environmentally controlled environment for extended periods of time.
- Self-starter
- Forklift experience required, experience loading trailers preferred.
- Strong math skills.
- Strong computer skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel experience preferred; comfortable learning new systems
- Strong communication skills including comfortable initiating phone calls
FLSA
- This is an hourly position and is subject to the overtime rate of 1.5 times the base hourly wage for any hours worked over 40 per week.
- Position may require weekend, holiday, or evening work depending on customer demand or UCO Industries requirements.
Probationary Period: 90 days
