Job Duties
Scope of the Job: A multi skilled person dedicated to assisting in designated aspects of medical practice including administrative and clinical procedures, as well as expediting patient care by documenting all provider/patient interactions in the medical record under the supervision and responsibility of a RN/LPN/APRN/experienced MA and/or licensed provider.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
• Take patient’s vital signs. Prepare patients for the provider’s care. Assist with patient examinations or treatments.
• Administer basic first aid.
• Correctly document all entries in the medical record, either electronic or hard copy, to include signature, date and time.
• Participates as an active care team member in the coordination of patient care.
• Prepares and maintains all clerical aspects of the medical records through established guidelines.
• Maintains patient scheduling functions, and sets patient appointments through established guidelines.
• Receives and directs messages, (electronic, in person and telephone calls) to the appropriate personnel. Makes contacts to other departments, physicians, patients and other outside organizations as necessary for the departmental/practice operations.
• Provides a standard of excellence as it relates to customer service for patients, staff members, and other customers.
• Participates in performance improvement projects.
Qualifications
Experience Requirements
1 year Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
2 year Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required
Certification/Licensure
Training: CNA: Graduate of an approved CNA program required
Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required at time of hire
