SummitRidge Hospital, a place for healing and hope provides quality behavioral health and addiction treatment services, mental health and substance abuse treatment located in Lawrenceville, Georgia, approximately 30 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta. Our dedicated team of professionals provide caring and professional inpatient, outpatient and support services to adults and adolescents suffering from psychiatric or addictive disorders. Additionally, the Geriatric unit provides acute care for seniors in psychiatric crisis. Our inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient programs have helped adolescents, adults, older adults, and their families.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Activity Therapist Coordinator to join our talented team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Making monthly schedule, supply ordering, budgeting, providing recreational, or leisure assessments as needed. Plans and provides activity therapy services for individual and/or groups which benefit their physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual wellbeing. Participates with the multidisciplinary treatment teams to integrate these services and improve patient functioning.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Prefer Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS). Music or Art Therapist (Master's degree with 1,000 hours post-graduate clinical experience – professional licensure preferred)
- Minimum of one year experience working in a therapeutic recreation program for adults and adolescents with psychiatric and/or chemical dependency patients
- Has a variety of skills to challenge and teach patients leisure skills and mastery over their environment.
- Prior progressive leadership experience preferred
