Beaumont Behavioral Health (a UHS Facility)

A new, 144-bed behavioral health facility – Beaumont Behavioral Hospital provides a full continuum of inpatient services across the entire patient population, including specialty programs to serve adolescents, adults and older adults, and perform behavioral health assessments 24 hours a day. Additionally, programs for co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues are offered to meet the unique needs of this patient population. The facility provides a robust outpatient program utilizing a combination of group, family and individual therapy.

Position Summary

The Director of Intake & Referral is accountable for directing the Assessment and Referral activities at the facility.  As a clinician, this position provides direction to a staff of Assessment & Intake Clinicians in the provision of psychiatric assessment services, including clinical evaluations, crisis intervention, and referrals.  This position interfaces closely with the medical staff, fellow department heads and administration, treatment team/external case managers/managed care organizations, functions as a liaison with other hospital intake departments. This role is a working supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and License: MSW, LMSW or RN; must be licensed in the State of Michigan 

Experience: 

• Must have Intake/Assessment experience in a psychiatric setting.
• A minimum of five (5) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting desirable. 
• Working knowledge of the Addiction & Recovery field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities.
• Able to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. 
• Must have strong management skills with ability to effectively communicate with staff, ensuring proper employee performance management.
• Preference will be given to applicants with Behavioral Health Intake experience.
