Our Inpatient Department is seeking an Intake Counselor who has a strong desire to make a difference! ((PRN hours for days and evenings)
Palo Verde Behavioral Health has a longstanding reputation for stability in mental health and substance use treatment, serving patients in and around Tucson since 1960. We offer individualized inpatient and intensive outpatient treatment programs for adults and adolescents.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic intake counselor/ clinician. This position is responsible for serving as the initial contact for patients and referral sources, providing therapeutic clinical assessments, documentation, appropriate DSM-V diagnoses, determines and coordinates ongoing clinical needs, and consults with the hospital psychiatrist to determine disposition. The clinicians conduct in-person clinical assessments, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
To perform this job successfully, the clinician must demonstrate competency in the criteria for this job description. The specifications listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet this position's minimum requirements. Staff must demonstrate knowledge and skill in providing services to various populations, including children, adolescents, adults, older adults, and dually diagnosed patients in an inpatient and partial hospital setting.
Qualifications
Education: Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology or Human Services field, licensed RN or Masters in Social Work.
Experience: Clinical assessment, evidence-based therapeutic modalities, as listed in job description. Familiarity with psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting
Licensure/Certification Required: Licensure through the Board of Behavioral Health, or RN licensure.
