What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - PRN position at UHS?
Glen Oaks Hospital is a 54-bed private mental health hospital in a relaxed setting in Greenville, Texas. Our comfortable, homelike atmosphere is conducive to healing for the adults and seniors we treat. Our greatest asset is the staff, comprised of psychiatrists, professional nurses, social workers and therapists. The LVN performs under the direction of a Registered Nurse in providing nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing basic understanding of psychiatric and personality disorders.
Hours: Varied; 7a-3p OR 3p to 11p, weekdays and weekends
Qualifications
Education: Graduate from a Vocational School of Nursing Accredited by the State Board of Nursing.
Experience: Minimum one (1) year as a /LVN in psychiatric nursing preferred.
Licensure: Licensed to practice Vocational nursing from the State Board of Nursing or Psychiatric Technicians.
Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification and successful completion of Handle with Care (HWC) including restraint and seclusion policies and Verbal De-escalation before on the unit orientation and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
