The Medical Education Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the planning and implementation of block and longitudinal courses for first- and second-year College of Medicine students independently and under the direction of the OCA Director, the Phase 1 curricular Dean, and other administrative staff leaders. This role supports daily instructional activities, student attendance tracking, course evaluations, and communications while also assisting with co-curricular programs, special projects, and key student events such as orientations and exam proctoring. The role requires the ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates daily instructional activities, assessment, course evaluation, communication, and general problem solving for block and longitudinal courses first- and second-year College of Medicine courses.
  • Follows-up and tracks student attendance and incomplete quiz completion in the M1 and M2 curriculum. Reports and tracks issues with the Phase 1 Attendance Policy and local procedures.
  • Monitors and responds to student emails and communications via Slack. Attends, participates on, and provides feedback to the Slack Strategy
  • Committee. Assists Associate Dean with bi-weekly communications with students, faculty and staff.
  • Acts as OCA liaison providing support with the Student Curricular Board and other co-curricular student group including the Mentor’s Program.
  • Participates as ex-officio in College of Medicine curricular planning and policy-making committees.
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects such as M1 and M2 Orientation, COM exam proctoring, and other events for students.
