We are looking for a Laboratory Chemist to join our ID team in Northbrook, IL. This role requires candidates to be onsite Monday through Friday.

We are looking for a Laboratory Chemist to join our ID team in Northbrook, IL. This role requires candidates to be onsite Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Tests customer samples, evaluates data sets to determine test results.
- Serves as Lead for test programs as assigned.
- Communicates project status and results as needed.
- Holds responsibility for report completion and accuracy, meeting of agreed deadlines, and managing project related activities.
- Examines complex customer samples and learns to operate appropriate tests for each case.
- Understands and is able to explain specific test standards and product technology for scope of responsibility.
- Operates and maintains complex test and support instruments appropriately to measure and test customer samples with the necessary help.
- Performs calibration, validation and verification of test instruments.
- Communicates with management and technical staff to provide suggestions for new instruments, processes, and forms to improve accuracy and efficiencies.
- Assists Senior Laboratory Chemists in the implementation / validation of new test methods and follows safe chemical hygiene practices.
- Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelors' degree or diploma from an accredited university through a formal program of study in Chemistry or related discipline including Biochemistry, Organic/Inorganic Chemistry, Material Science but not limited to these disciplines only.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high quality and exceptional customer service.
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with customers.
- Proven ability to be innovative and creative.
- Desire to work in a team-oriented environment. Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must.
- Ability to incorporate automation into day-to-day testing.
