General Summary:
Under the direction of the Director – Specialty Services the Radiology Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Imaging Department. The role will work to implement new programs, as well as oversee the operational, and salary budgets for the Imaging departments. The operations manager will play an integral role in further development of the staff, and programs.
Requirements:
- Satisfactory completion of formal education program in an AMA-approved school and successful completion of board registry by the ARRT or ARDMS.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Masters or Doctorate degree with focus in leadership preferred.
- Three (3) years of progressively more responsible health care management experience required.
- Current BLS/CPR certification - Basic life support preferred.
- A minimum of three (3) years of progressive related work experience necessary to have full understanding of radiological policies, procedures, and equipment maintenance and progressive supervisory experience.
- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to provide effective leadership for assigned personnel and develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with various hospital departments.
- Analytical skills necessary in order to direct day-to-day operations ensure efficient schedules of personnel and respond to equipment malfunctions or team member relation problems.
- Demonstrate an understanding of managerial expertise and administrative systems.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and financial reports.
- Manage inspections in response to licensing and regulatory agencies requirements.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Understands Metro Health’s corporate goals and objectives and helps to develop a departmental plan, in conjunction with the Director, complete with long and short-term goals, including capital purchase and program development.
- Prepare, oversee, and plan operational and salary budget for Imaging services in conjunction with the Director.
- Completes annual performance appraisals for appropriate staff. Recommends personnel actions such as hiring, firing, and corrective action.
- Assure appropriate levels of staff to patient ratios are maintained. Provide assistance and direction to staff delegated to creating schedules, and assignments.
- Assure radiation safety guidelines are communicated and adhered to, by tracking utilization when indicated, education where needed and other remediation actions when necessary. Offer training, and learning opportunities annually on radiation and patient/employee safety
- Ensures that processes and services are continuously monitored for quality, cost effectiveness, and efficiency. Engages in process and quality improvement activities. Makes and implements recommendations to improve operational efficiency and to implement new services for areas of responsibility.
- Maintain licensing, accreditation, and inspection, of all radiation emitting imaging equipment for various agencies.
- Hold regular team meetings with direct reports. Pursue leadership growth in others by example, tactical and practical education, coaching and formal programs.
- Enhance customer experience by providing the highest level of customer service and setting the same standard for direct reports.
- Continual pursuit of personal and professional growth; Engages in continuous study of the entire professional field, including best practices from formal training and self study, to maintain the professional competence, knowledge, and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities. Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
