Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and capable Scientist to join the Discovery team. The successful candidate will focus on discovery, development, and optimization related to Umoja proprietary VivoVec™ and RACR™ technologies for the creation of novel engineered T cell therapies for the treatment of cancer. REQUIREMENTS
Specific responsibilities include:
- Develop, validate, and optimize VivoVec™ surface engineering technology by setting up in vitro T cell and NK cell culture and assays
- Design and setup experiments to evaluate RACR™ activity in CAR T cells, including T cell proliferation and functional assays
- Develop in vitro assays to explore long term CAR T cell function, exhaustion, and phenotype, such as repeated/continuous stimulation assays
- Assist with the design and analysis of in vivo studies
- Participate in exploratory and new pipeline development related to next generation CAR T cell therapies
- Maintain complete laboratory records and prepare technical data reports and presentations
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Virology, or related discipline with 10 /8 years of experience respectively, in the CAR T cell field or a PhD in the field of immunology/cancer immunotherapy and 0-2 year of laboratory experience.
- Experience with protein analytical techniques such as multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, and western blotting
- Experience with functional assays, such as MSD, Incucyte®, spheroid cultures using human CAR T cells
- Experience with lentiviral vector transduction assays
- Experience with mammalian cell culture
- Experience in molecular biology techniques such as cloning
Preferred Qualification:
- Biotech industry experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and prioritize work on multiple projects
- Strong communication skills in technical writing and oral presentation
