What are the responsibilities and job description for the Order Selector position at Umpqua Dairy?
Working in the Cooler Warehouse filling orders from load sheets, handling cases of manufactured dairy related products as it comes off the production line, rotate cases of product, receive freight, load delivery vehicles and clean cooler. Use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, lifting up to 100 lbs. and some paperwork. Most of the shift is normally spent in -15° to 34° F environment. Maintain an efficient work environment, promote teamwork and ensure we produce the highest quality dairy products available in the marketplace.
Essential Functions:
Verify all refer settings prior to loading any trailers.
Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain products to be pulled from stock.
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, chains and shelves by hand.
Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
Counts, weighs, and records number of units or material moved or handled on daily production sheet.
Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, stacks, or other containers.
Loads trucks with appropriate product for delivery to customers.
Stacks or assembles materials onto pallet & bands or shrink wraps stacks in order to secure product.
Lifts heavy objects by hand, with metal hook or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment.
Operates industrial truck to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
Keep work area clean and free of debris, broken products and any other hazards.
Use chemical to sanitize product & the warehouse.
Safely& accurately pull and load orders off of pick sheet.
Properly rotate inventory to follow “first in, first out” procedure.
Review of all orders to determine if they were completely fulfilled.
Ensure warehouse equipment charging procedure is being followed.
Be able to identify product by size, type, style, color or product code
