What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Driver position at uncc-sb?
Support day-to-day Transportation business needs as assigned by supervision, including Niner Transit, Niner Paratransit, e-scooters and pedal-assist bicycles, bicycle lockers, charter transportation requests, bus advertising, CATS/Light Rail operations and all other transportation-related services.Report all critical safety concerns and all accidents, incidents, and injuries to appropriate supervisory staffDemonstrate initiative and remain productive throughout your workday.Utilize two-way radios with proper radio language (10 codes) for appropriate and professional communication with supervisor and/or on-duty dispatcher for updates and passenger transfer information.Report to designated ADA pick-up and drop-off locations as directed by dispatcher for scheduled and on-demand transfers, and provide safe point-to-point transportation.Provide chartered transportation as scheduled by supervisory staff.Assist with the bus advertisement program by inspecting and installing/removing bus ads as directed.Coordinate with the supervisory team to facilitate supply deliveries on campus.Monitor email and driver’s mailbox on a daily basis and respond accordingly.Fuel vehicles daily at the end of each shift.Access and print the driver paperwork for your shift and review schedule information for updated passenger transfer information.Prepare and complete paperwork, logs and records legibly and completely, as required.Access appropriate vehicle keys from the key box and sign the vehicle out on the Vehicle Activity board.Independently perform routine pre/post-trip vehicle inspections, identifying both the condition and operational capacity of all vehicle systems by checking fuel levels, tires, wiper blades, lights, audible and visual vehicle warning systems, ADA lift/ramp and accessory components, etc.Identify and document vehicle defects on associated paperwork (DVIR, Vehicle Usage Log, etc.) and report vehicle defects to supervisor and document on the Driver/Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).Provide courteous and positive customer-service experiences to students, faculty, staff, and University guests through all interactions and supported services.Operate vehicle-equipped ADA ramp/lift and ensure passenger enters and exits the vehicle safely and properly secure mobility device aids (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.) for disability transportation program members in vehicles with appropriate tie-down restraints.Enter, edit, review, and submit information into necessary computer programs in support of dispatch operations.
