JOB DESCRIPTION  


Plans, executes, and finalizes projects according to established deadlines and budgets. The Project Manager is responsible for developing and documenting all tasks that relate to a specific project; this includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to the plan. The Project Manager will direct the activities of the project, work directly with project resources on tasking, monitor project status, assist in resolution of project issues, and create related project documentation, under the guidance of the Project Management Office standard practices.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:  



  • Interface directly with key stakeholders and customers to deliver solutions that exceed expectations while managing large-scale, technology development projects from initiation to completion

  • Manage and oversee project management activities such as project reporting, project planning, issue/risk identification and tracking, scope management, estimation, internal client management, relationship management, and other project documentation.

  • Lead cross-functional teams of business SMEs and engineers, ensuring optimal resource alignment and fostering productive stakeholder relationships

  • Identify and mitigate risks proactively, including non-obvious relationships and anomalies often overlooked by others

  • Demonstrate technical expertise in technology infrastructure components while ensuring solutions meet both functional specifications and non-functional requirements

  • Influence business stakeholders by presenting multiple solution options with clear trade-offs and recommended approaches

  • Monitor and report project performance using established metrics, communicating status and insights effectively to executive leadership

  • Manage scope changes strategically through disciplined change control processes to maintain project integrity while accommodating evolving business needs

  • Oversee financial aspects of projects including budget tracking, resource utilization, and ROI analysis to ensure cost-effective delivery 

  • Experience running large-scale multi-discipline efforts across people processes and technology with complex financial services organizations.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of technology infrastructure and nuances, including testing, QA, production environment, test environment, engineering, etc.

  • PMP certification and/or Agile Scrum Management certification.




SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 




No supervisory responsibilities. 


 


QUALIFICATIONS:  


 


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  


 


Bachelor's degree or equivalent amount of related work experience required with at least 5 years’ experience in project management, and preferably in Data Management, Data Mining or Application Development Project.



  • Awareness of PMI, CMM and Six Sigma Methodologies and Standards.

  • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Asana SharePoint MS Project experience a plus. 

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience and training in project management principles and techniques.

  • Strong working knowledge of computer technology.

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project.

  • Experience using SharePoint as a document repository and communications medium.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and affiliated tools

  • Experience in managing Information Technology projects or projects with a technology focus.

Salary Range: $95,900.00 To $111,000.00 per year (Salary is commensurate with experience.) This is a hybrid role: 4 days on-site and 1-day remote per week, located in UNCF’s Washington DC Headquarters building.
