Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Merchandising Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in analyzing, forecasting, and reporting on merchandising performance to optimize product offerings and drive profitability. This role requires strong technical expertise in Excel, Power BI, and data analytics, with a focus on building and maintaining dynamic dashboards and leveraging AI for advanced insights.
Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze sales, inventory, and merchandising data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Provide actionable insights to the merchandising and category management teams to optimize product assortments and pricing strategies.
- Dashboard Development & Maintenance:
- Build and maintain interactive dashboards in Power BI to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, margin, inventory turnover, and customer purchasing behaviors.
- Ensure dashboards are accurate, up-to-date, and tailored to meet the needs of various stakeholders.
- AI and Predictive Analytics:
- Utilize AI tools to create predictive models for demand forecasting, pricing strategies, and customer behavior analysis.
- Apply machine learning techniques to uncover patterns and automate repetitive tasks.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with category managers, store teams, and supply chain partners to support merchandising decisions.
- Present findings and recommendations in a clear, concise manner to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Data Management & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across systems.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data workflows, processes, and dashboard usage.
Core Competencies:
Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, macros, and complex formulas).
- Expert-level skills in Power BI including DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query for creating and maintaining dynamic dashboards.
- Strong SQL skills for querying and managing data.
- Knowledge of database systems and ETL processes.
- Experience in AI and machine learning tools for data analysis.

Requirements
- BS Degree in Business Management, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field
- 2 years of experience in a merchandising, retail, or data analytics role
- Proven experience with Excel, Power BI, and AI-based analytics tools
- Experience in retail, grocery, or a similar industry is preferred
