What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Flight Instructor position at UND Aerospace Foundation?
· Conduct flight instruction in the various makes and models of aircraft utilized by the UNDAF. Will be required to have approximately 500 contact hours per year, which includes observation, standardization, and flight instruction.
· Assist the Phoenix Chief and Assistant Chief Flight Instructors to safely oversee the flight training program operated by UNDAF in Phoenix, AZ.
· Assist in safety conducting the flight training programs at the UNDAF Flight Training Centers using SMS principles.
· Primary administrative responsibility will be supervision of a team of line flight instructors, providing guidance and organization of instructor workload, student supervision and mentoring of instruction practices and procedures.
· Assist the Phoenix Chief and Assistant Chief Flight Instructors to develop and monitor flight and ground training courses and tools for flight training, develop and recommend methods and processes to improve the quality of training, maintain communication with appropriate course manager to ensure the Flight Training Center has the same tools available as JDOSAS to provide the highest quality of flight training.
· Assist the Phoenix Chief Flight Instructor and Site Manager in other duties as assigned for the purpose of fulfilling UNDAF’s goals and obligations to its partners and customers.
Qualifications
· 2 year degree or equivalent flight experience,
· Commercial Pilot Certificate with instrument rating.
· CFI-Airplane with Instrument.
· Current Medical Certificate necessary.
· Good interpersonal skills, strong customer service abilities and positive attitude.
· An individual who pays close attention to detail in maintaining regulations and policies.
· Willingness to work the hours required to achieve desired results; schedule flexibility is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
· 4 year degree in Aviation or Management.
· MEI preferred.
· 500 hours PIC and 300 hours dual given.
· Previous management and customer service experience.
· A working knowledge of MS Office which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
