Safety

  • Provide “leadership by example” with a proactive approach toward the health and safety of all customers, employees and visitors.
  • Co-Chair Safety Committee
  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are strictly adhered to
  • Enforce progressive disciplinary policies and ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Co-ordinate with HR to ensure employees safety records are up to date
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA/OHSA and EPA/MOE regulations coordinating efforts with outside consultants
  • Review monthly Safety Committee meeting minutes
  • Update OSHA 200 log where applicable


Training

  • Ensure the training of plant staff is ongoing and progressive in accordance with the Unilock Training Program.
  • Ensure plant employee training modules are updated
  • Perform and review employee evaluations
  • Review employee training requirements


Production

  • Monitor production schedules and inventory levels. Ensure Unilock Total Quality Management program is strictly adhered to. Review product deficiencies, seconds and scrap reports and develop an action plan as necessary.
  • Review all production reports
  • Color testing
  • Inventory counts
  • Ensure product availability to customers and co-ordinate with production schedulers as required
  • Review fulfillment reports


Preventive Maintenance

  • Review daily and weekly maintenance checklist with plant and maintenance supervisors and approve action plan for repairs.
  • Ultimate responsibility for plant maintenance
  • Ensure spare parts inventory is accurate and adequate


Purchasing

  • Follow the policy for all purchases of raw materials and plant supplies.


Reports

  • Prepare budget and actively review daily and monthly reports.
  • Prepare yearly plant budget
  • Downtime efficiency report
  • Mold analysis/Mold usage review
  • Provide monthly safety, training and production update in Presidents Report


Other essential duties

  • Ensure the availability of superior quality products in an efficient and cost effective manner to Unilock customers.
  • Responsible for hiring and dismissal(s) for plant operations.
  • Pursue excellence in all areas of plant operations.

  • Assist with construction projects and equipment installation


Physical Requirements

  • Requires standing, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 50 lbs. Requires the ability to perform work with hands and/or arms in the same repetitive motion above and below shoulder level.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years manufacturing experience
  • College/University diploma
  • Minimum 5 years Proven Supervisory/Management experience
  • Working knowledge of machine operations
  • Computer skills - MS Office, ERP Systems
  • Fundamental understanding of Lean Manufacturing Concepts (OEE, 5S, etcetera.)
  • Fundamental understanding of Preventative Maintenance Programs (CMMS)
  • Business fundamentals (Planning, Budgeting, Purchasing)
  • Multi-lingual (Spanish, German)
  • The ability to read and write the English language
