Position Title : Customer Service / Cashier
Ministry Department : Mission Store
Mission Store Reports To : Mission Store Manager
FLSA STATUS : Non-Exempt
LOCATION : Mission Store, 885 Commercial Street NE, Salem, OR 97301 STATUS :
Part-time, 25 hours per week (Shifts are generally Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays)
Union Gospel Mission of Salem incorporated in 1953 as a Church charged with the responsibility of
reaching others for Christ. Our Mission Statement calls us to 'Help men, women and children break free
from homelessness through the transforming grace of Jesus Christ.' As such, every position at UGM of
Salem is an extension of this ministry and therefore a ministry of the Christian faith.
Cashier Responsibilities :
Perform cashier duties as directed by management.
Display sorted and priced merchandise on the sales floor as determined by management.
Maintain display and general store appearance.
Keep a clean and organized work area.
Back-up / relieve Production / Warehouse workers as needed.
Attend various Mission functions and meetings as required.
Assist with other duties as needed and as directed by the Mission Store Manager.
Cashier Requirements
- Prior cash handling experience required.
- Basic math skills and able to operate a cash register and properly handle money transactions.
- Ability to work with others in a team to provide quality products.
- Able to lift 20 pounds
- Able to provide quality customer service with a positive attitude.
