What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Chef position at Union Pacific Railroad?
Plan and coordinate all aspects of menu development, food preparation, presentation, and food service for Union Pacific staff and their guests at company sponsored hospitality events and venues. Venues may include Heritage Operations business car functions and trips, UP Center events and various other event venues held across the continental USA. Individuals hired to work in this position will be expected to work evening, nights and weekends and travel up to 50% of the time.
- Develop guest menus, ensuring a high level of culinary standards are achieved through creative, personalized menu development
- Prepare food for meals according to guest plans, ensuring special dietary needs and guest requests are understood and accommodated
- Supervise presentation of food, assessing visual appeal, taste, and temperature
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in food preparation areas, ensuring health standards and regulations are observed
- Ability to prep and cook food safely on moving equipment
- Ability to be seen and approached with questions by guests
- A high school diploma or Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- 5 or more years experience working in culinary services
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs
- Travel up to 50 percent of the time
