What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician II position at UniSea?
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for the repair and maintenance of a wide variety of equipment associated with the production facility
- Responsible for monitoring and adjusting various plant functions such as chlorination systems, refrigeration, hydraulics and case packer machine and selected equipment efficiencies throughout the facility
- Responsible for having a firm knowledge of plant layout
- Responsible for staying abreast of current company policies as they relate to safety, environmental issues etc. Will promote safety in the work place and apply teamwork approach to all work tasks.
- Contributing to the overall preventative maintenance program within the current framework as directed
- Responsible for completing speedy and effective maintenance during plant down time as directed
- Responsible for providing well arranged documentation of work tasks and contributing to the overall record keeping effort
- Responsible for making sure all work tasks assigned/taken on are driven by and logged into the work order system
- Maintain awareness that maintenance is a service group and must strive to do “quality work” to meet the requirements of our “customers”, the Production Department.
- Assist in maintaining Everyday Focus in work area
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years experience in production equipment repair and maintenance. Must have demonstrated mechanical ability.
- Knowledge of and training in a specialized discipline, such as refrigeration, hydraulics or other a plus
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to follow directions
- Good communication and organizational skills
This is an hourly non-exempt position with a rate of $19.25 per hour.
