Worksite Monitor - STATEN ISLAND, NY **

Schedule: 25 hours per week, Varied

Reports To: Employment Specialist

Pay Range: $20 - $25 (*based on city, state and/ or federal contractual obligations and budgetary allowances)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Worksite Monitor (Seasonal Staff) will be under the direct supervision of the Employment Specialist. The Worksite Monitor (Seasonal Staff) is responsible for providing a safe, caring, and growth-oriented environment for youth enrolled in the Summer Youth Employment Program. Worksite Monitor (Seasonal Staff) will be expected to visit host internship sites and complete compliance paperwork on a weekly basis between June 2024 and August 2024. Worksite Monitor (Seasonal Staff) are responsible for establishing and maintaining a professional working relationship with participants and worksite supervisors.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

● Conduct in-person visits to host worksites on a weekly basis to observe and document: worksite conditions, the quality of supervision, youth participation, and internship progress via interviews with worksite supervisors and participants

● Respond to worksite inquiries within a 24-hour time frame

● Immediately report worksite issues, including but not limited to: injuries, behavioral issues, inappropriate conduct, and unsafe conditions to your Employment Specialist

● Monitor participants' progress during program implementation to ensure positive outcomes

● Address participants' performance issues, both positive or negative, in a timely manner

● Confirm participant work hours with worksite supervisors and ensure hours are recorded accurately in payroll tracking systems. Make adjustments to participants’ hours as needed

● Accurately complete and submit DYCD required documentation such as weekly assessments, participant referrals, and evaluations on a weekly basis

● Maintain professional communications and correspondence with worksites, participants, and colleagues

● Share best practices and success stories with fellow Worksite Monitors and Employment Specialists

● Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and participant workshops as required, both virtually and in-person

● Maintain a work schedule that is aligned with the business hours of the worksites you support

● Assist with other department duties and projects as needed

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

● High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred

● Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire

● 2 years of experience in youth services or working with youth from various populations, preferred

● Must possess a Valid driver’s license – non-expired

● Must have daily access to a reliable mode of transportation, preferably a motor vehicle

● Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

● Demonstrates operational knowledge and proficiency of remote work/remote learning technology, including Zoom, Google Meets, Google Classroom, and the Internet

● Demonstrates ability to conduct and complete work independently, including meeting deadlines, while contributing to a collaborative team effort

● Ability to serve as a strong role model and provide guidance to young workers

● Willing and able to take initiative and allow for a flexible work schedule; including some nights and occasional weekends

● Demonstrates an understanding of and values individuals’ different capacities, cultures, and abilities

● Bilingual, a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:

● Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need.

● Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

● Position is in a well-lighted office environment.

● Involves sitting approximately 50% percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.

● Must be able to remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the time.

● May include travel to a variety of locations, based on programming needs. Which is reimbursed in accordance with UAU’s fiscal policies and procedures

● May include working prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

● The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

● The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet or more of the observer)

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
