POSITION SUMMARY
Success Coaches at United Against Poverty are critical to the long-term success of our member participants and we could not positively impact so many lives without them! As a member of the Program team, the Success Coach will implement the classroom portion of the STEP program, direct outreach to ensure classes are full and prepare participants for employment success and support their success post-employment. The Success Coach is part of a team that provides classroom training, and personalized job retention support to assist motivated participants to move from poverty to economic self-sufficiency. Our goal is to motivate and empower them through support to reach their goals.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Facilitating classroom training for the STEP program using the STEP curriculum for emotional intelligence, job acquisition and workplace skills.
- Completing all intake processes, pre and post testing and evaluations necessary.
- Assisting participants in developing Career Plans based on their ability, aptitude and ambition.
- Assisting participants in developing Financial Plans for increasing personal savings, decreasing personal debt and establishing or improving credit score.
- Working alongside participants using a traditional case management model, to track progress through case notes and data collection.
- Providing individualized assistance and skills training, on a case by case basis as needed with referrals to other programs as necessary.
- Undertaking outreach with community partners to generate STEP participants. Managing internal referral process from Intake department, scheduling and leading all orientations for STEP classes.
- Providing one-on-one job coaching in preparing participants for graduation from Phase I to Phase II of the STEP program.
- Using HMIS for client tracking; ensuring timely input of all case management notes and evaluations necessary to track client progress per program requirements.
- Completing required assessment at intake for Self Sufficiency Matrix and Community Impact Analysis. Maintaining all required documentation necessary for the STEP program.
- Generating all applicable reports as required to track program progress.
- Providing weekly progress reports to the Program leader.
- Assisting with all other ad-hoc department projects as needed.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Service, Education, Business or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar programs and/or non-profit role. Workforce development experience is also preferred.
PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to sit for long periods of time and move frequently throughout the day. Will be exposed to members of the general public on a regular basis. Frequent travel may be required.
