Position Title: Manager of Broker Education (for Employee Benefits Advisors)
Location: Remote (U.S.-based) with Occasional Travel
Reports to: Chief of Staff
Position Summary:
United Benefits Advisors® (UBA), a collaborative community of independent employee benefits advisors, is seeking an Education Manager who will draw upon their experience in the employee benefits industry to champion education and collaboration across 120 employee benefit advisory Partner Firms in the US and Canada for both in-person and virtual meetings. The Manager will develop and manage the coordination of the educational agendas for UBA's 3 annual conferences, 4 virtual training academies and various other webinars and educational opportunities. This role requires understanding of, and experience in, the employee benefits industry, ideally as an account manager at an employee benefits advisory agency. The successful candidate will have a servant leader mindset and an excellent ability to understand the needs of UBA Partners and translate them into educational opportunities to support and strengthen all UBA Partner Firms. Organizational and project management skills are essential to track and ensure success. Relationship building, customer service skills, and high attention to detail are also needed.

Key Responsibilities

Develop educational programs for 3 annual in-person conferences
- Recommend educational programming for UBA's 3 annual conferences
- Develop agendas and secure speakers for conference sessions, prioritizing UBA Partner Firms sharing practices and learnings with each other.
- Coordinate specialized sessions for Partner Firm owners and manage content with facilitators
- Communicate conference logistics and roles to all speakers and session leaders, and manage this onsite at each conference
- Evaluate speaker candidates and provide recommendations to the Shared Wisdom Committee
- Analyze post-conference surveys and deliver actionable recommendations to the Shared Wisdom Committee

Plan and execute four virtual training academies annually (25-40 attendees each) covering self-funding, compliance, producer strategies, and account management.
- Develop project plans and coordinate staff efforts for academy marketing, registration, and execution
- Manage annual budgets for each academy
- Collaborate with Shared Wisdom Committee to source ideas, plan agendas, and identify improvements
- Create educational agendas and secure instructors for all academy content
- Track and report participant engagement throughout academies
- Evaluate programs and apply results to plan following year's educational programming
- Coordinate with Alliance team to secure and fulfill sponsorships
- Serve as Staff Liaison to UBA Shared Wisdom Committee to brainstorm, develop and approve educational sessions and agendas for conferences and academies.
- Coordinate virtual webinars and other educational opportunities
- Collaborate with Partner Relations team to identify and leverage Partner Firm best practices shared through UBA educational channels
- Support recruitment and onboarding of new Partner Firms as needed
- Provide additional organizational support as assigned, including responding to Partner inquiries professionally and timely (UBA maintains a lean staff of ~15 professionals)
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years' experience in the employee benefits industry – preferably at a brokerage firm or insurance carrier – is required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Active Life and Health license preferred.
- Conference and educational planning experience is a plus.
- Strong project management skills; able to keep multiple complex initiatives on track and under control.
- Intermediate level proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Planner and Teams
- High level of proficiency with software solutions. Experience with CRMs (i.e. Hubspot) or AMS is a plus.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills-written, verbal, and across mediums.
- Must be self-motivated, work well independently, and enjoy collaborating with a team
- Proven to be flexible and adaptable to quickly shift priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with high desire to learn and grow and add value
Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel required (approximately 10-15%), including in-person attendance at three major annual conferences, which may include evening and weekend work
