Technical Account Manager
MUST BE LOCATED IN THE MIDWEST WITHIN 1 HR OF A MAJOR AIRPORT
MUST BE OPEN TO 70% OVERNIGHT TRAVEL
Position Summary:
The Technical Account Manager is the primary service and sales support contact for customers in an assigned territory. This role focuses on maintaining sales revenue while identifying ways to drive incremental growth and fostering strong, professional relationships with customers and industry partners. This is a salaried incentive position and reports to the Technical Services Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Routine Activities
- Maintain and service assigned customer accounts
- Provide expert technical support to both prospective and existing customers
- Identify and grow incremental sales opportunities within the assigned geographic territory
- Build and maintain strong, trustworthy relationships with existing customers and industry partners
- Deliver market and competitor insights to internal teams
- Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of company dispensing systems at customer locations
- Support fellow technical and sales reps in the field as needed
- Participate in local and/or national trade associations as designated
- Assist in R&D and tradeshow activities
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Technical Services Manager
Reporting
- Submit weekly site visit logs and CRM updates
Compliance
- Adhere to all personnel and electrical safety standards at customer and company sites
- Must be a non-smoker and non-vaper
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- 2 year college degree (4-year technical degree preferred) AND/OR
- At least 5 years of experience in the concrete products market, with a strong emphasis on materials testing and technical sales
Skills & Requirements
- Strong technical sales experience or aptitude
- Solid background in concrete materials testing or related technical experience
- Electrical and mechanical aptitude required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including conflict resolution
- Well-organized and able to work independently in the field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with CRM software is a plus
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand or walk for extended periods
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
Travel Requirements
- Extensive travel required - up to 70% overnight travel by car and plane
