Job Summary: Reporting directly to the EVP, Chief Lending Officer, the FVP, Commercial Lending Officer, is responsible for soliciting and servicing prospective customers producing a variety of commercial loans as well as generating and managing a portfolio of business and corresponding relationships, while seeking new accounts through calling efforts, marketing, and referrals. The incumbent will work closely with commercial lenders to assist the overall goals of the Commercial lending department. Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to: Manages a portfolio of commercial loans. Hire, train, coach, counsel and provide general direction and guidance to direct reports. Assists borrowers through the application process and assesses whether the financial health of the borrower qualifies for a loan. Support the Chief Lending Officer with: Coaching and mentoring commercial lenders in the performance of their assigned responsibilities of managing their maturing loans, financial ticklers, covenant compliance, and delinquent loans. Establishes and maintains direct involvement and promotes exceptional customer service with existing and prospective customers. Market bank products to individuals and businesses, promoting bank services that meet customers' needs. Meet with applicants to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the process. Explain to customers the different types of loans and credit options that are available, as well as the terms of those services. Obtain and compile copies of loan applicants' credit histories, corporate financial statements, and other financial information. Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans. Submit credit requests and appropriate financial information to credit analysts to determine creditworthiness of applicant. Handle customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them. Stay abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products to better meet customers' needs. Review and update credit and loan files. Perform all duties in relation to the Bank Secrecy Act under the guidance of the BSA Officer. Ensures Accountability – Holds self and others accountable to meet commitments. Education, Experience and Qualifications: ‪Ten (10) years of experience as a commercial loan business development officer or equivalent work experience. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in finance, accounting, or business is required. Five (5) years of managing a team of lenders required. Physical Requirements of Essential Job Functions: The associate is frequently required to sit and/or stand, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects, tools or controls that are typical of an office/bank environment. Lifting items weighting up to 10 pounds on a consistent basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 80% of the work period while operating equipment such as computers, phones, calculators, etc. Working Conditions: Typical office environment. Extended viewing of computer screens. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional weekend and evening work may be required.
