Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Department: Production Support

Classification: Non-Exempt

Summary: We are looking for a Maintenance Technician who will perform general repairs to the facility and help keep our facility best in class. The person in this role needs to possess a strong work ethic and initiative. They must also have knowledge of general repair skills and general industrial electronics knowledge. The goal is to ensure our facility is always clean and safe for all employees and guests.

Responsibilities: As the Maintenance Technician you will:

  • Perform general maintenance repairs to the facility, grounds, and systems.
  • Maintain records of maintenance tasks and inspections.
  • Ensure the inspection of equipment and systems to identify problems or issues.
  • Trouble shoot mechanical and electrical systems including PLC controlled equipment.
  • Maintain/repair liquid and pneumatic plumbing lines.
  • Handle preventative maintenance to ensure systems continue to operate properly.
  • Clean and assist with the upkeep of the facility and grounds, including trash removal when needed.
  • Pick up or deliver materials and equipment as required.
  • Assist with the installation, assembly, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
  • Assist with decommissioning of machinery and equipment, along with disposal of equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement equipment upgrades and modifications.
  • Handle facility improvements, including furniture assembly, dry wall repairs, hanging pictures/banners/TVs, painting, event setup, and equipment relocation.
  • Observe all company rules and safety practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You’re a great fit for this position if this describes you;

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Able to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Able to use an electrical multi meter.
  • Proficiency with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Able to read electrical prints, mainly in equipment maintenance manuals.
  • Knowledge of PLC operations and programming is a plus.
  • Electrical certifications or licensed electrician.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electronic systems.
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Able to or willing to learn and become certified to drive a fork truck.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse projects through analytical thinking, prioritization, and problem-solving.
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced, team environment, while responding to change favorably and quickly.
  • Familiar with general manufacturing concepts is a plus.

  • You bring with you a positive attitude and the ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
  • Help United Safety operate effectively by adhering to attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Understand that you are part of a growing company, you have no concerns with and able to work extended hours/over-time as needed as well as some Saturdays to support that growth.
