Special Education Spanish Teacher – Grades 8 & 9
Location: Roosevelt Island, NY (Between Queens and Manhattan, easy commute from midtown or Queens by F-train or Tram)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am–2:30pm (Tuesdays and Wednesdays require attendance at after-school meetings at 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM)
Salary: $70,000–$80,000 (Depending on experience)

United Staffing Solutions, a leader in educational staffing, is proud to partner with a successful, non-public special education school seeking a passionate and experienced Special Education Spanish Teacher to join their team this fall.
This is a full-time, permanent, in-person position focused on teaching Spanish to 8th and 9th grade students with special needs. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in special education, Spanish instruction, and the IEP process to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
What You’ll Do as a Special Education Spanish Teacher:
Develop academic plans and instructional goals based on student assessments
Teach Spanish to 8th and 9th grade students in a self-contained special education setting
Monitor and evaluate student progress in communication, academics, social skills, and behavior
Collaborate with service providers, parents, and the school’s multidisciplinary team
Actively participate in the IEP development and implementation process
Teach one additional elective period for students in grades 9–12
Requirements for the Special Education Spanish Teacher:
Master’s Degree in Education (Special Education strongly preferred)
Valid New York State Certification in Special Education (Grades 1–6 or 7–12)
At least 2 years of experience teaching middle or high school students (experience with Special Education strongly preferred)
Previous experience teaching Spanish in an education setting
Experience with the IEP process
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to provide three professional references
