What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Superintendent/Project Manager position at United Traders?
The Huda Academy has an opening for a Construction Superintendent for the construction of the new campus of the Huda Academy School in West Little Rock, Arkansas.
Primary responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
· Responsible that the project is built in accordance with the project plans and specifications.
· On site coordination and overseeing all on site activities of all contractors and subcontractors.
· Managing materials and equipment
· Ensuring work is progressing according to schedule
· Interacting with contractors, the public, and Construction Committee in the course of work
· Regular use of written and oral communication skills to report to the Construction committee on a weekly basis.
· Reading and interpreting data, information, construction plans, project specifications, test reports, schedules, and other documents
· Analyzing and solving problems
· Observing and interpreting situations on construction job sites
· Performing highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks
· Working under tight deadlines
· Assuring the quality of the contractor’s work meets the contract requirements and reviews any discrepancies with the contractors.
· Prepare daily reports on all construction activities, weather, personnel, materials, and equipment on site.
· Measure, calculate, and report quantities of work performed to produce progressive pay estimates.
· Review Invoices and provide recommendations to the Construction Committee.
· Record keeping
· Monitor and control project budget and expenses.
· Enforce safety regulations and uphold a safe working environment for all personnel.
Applicants must be operating motorized vehicles. All applicants must consent to a background check, drug screen, motor vehicle report as a requirement of employment.
Requirements:
· 10 years of experience in construction inspections
· Experience in observing schools, commercial building facilities, and utility construction projects.
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Current and valid driver's license
· Strong written and verbal communication experience
Preferred but not required:
· Other testing and inspection certifications
· Coursework in Construction Management
