Wood County Prevention Coalition Coordinator
The Wood County Prevention Coalition Coordinator (WCPCC) will implement and manage programs and activities aimed at increasing strong, healthy relationships between youth and adults within the community. This role involves planning, coordination, outreach, and evaluation of prevention initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Program Planning and Implementation: Develop, implement, and evaluate prevention programming that promotes youth wellness (physical, mental, and social well-being), increases positive behaviors, activities, and initiatives based on community needs and future grant requirements.
- Community Outreach and Engagement: Build relationships with schools, community organizations, law enforcement, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to promote prevention efforts and coalition building.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data on at-risk (i.e., negative behaviors, substance use, depression, suicidal ideations, suicide, lack of trusted adults, etc.) trends and program outcomes to inform program planning and evaluation. Collect and analyze data on positive youth behavior trends and initiative outcomes to inform program planning and evaluation.
- Resource Development: Identify and secure in-kind donations, funding opportunities, and other resources to support prevention programs.
- Training and Education: Provide training and educational materials to community members, Coalition members, and volunteers on prevention that promotes positive youth development.
- Communication and Media: Develop and manage media campaigns and communication materials to raise awareness about prevention and positive youth development.
- Evaluation: Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and activities using various methods and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Coalition Building: Recruit youth, families, and community members to participate in the Wood County Drug Prevention Coalition.
Financial Management:
- Process and track program-related invoices, reimbursements, and financial documentation accurately and promptly.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records; provide monthly expense summaries to the WCPC Treasurer and applicable board representatives.
- Monitor grant and program budgets to ensure expenditures align with approved funding guidelines and best fiscal practices.
- Assist in preparing and submitting required financial reports to funding agencies.
- Maintain inventory of program supplies and notify the WCPC Treasurer when reordering is needed to support ongoing youth prevention activities.
Other: Perform other program-related duties as assigned by the WCPC Executive Board.
Qualifications:
Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in psychology, behavioral sciences, health sciences, or related field.
- Proven experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation – ideally within a prevention setting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge of prevention strategies and community organizing.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively with a diverse population.
Ability to:
- Communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Speak, read, and write appropriate English.
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions with minimal accountability controls.
- Travel extensively in the local area (Wood County) and occasionally out of the area.
Flexibility in managing work time to meet position requirements.
- This is a hybrid position with the hourly rate starting at $25/hour for up to 40 hours per month.
