About the Role
United Way of Utah County is seeking an Individual Philanthropy Intern to support our Director of Individual Philanthropy. This is a great opportunity for a student or emerging professional looking to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor engagement, event logistics, and end-of-year campaign strategy.
Intern will provide essential administrative and logistical support for three key initiatives: a major donor event, a mid-level donor open house, and our year-end activities, which include our direct mail campaign and donor engagement in United Way’s annual Sub for Santa program. Intern will also have the opportunity to take on a project of their choosing.
Time Commitment & Location
- 5–10 hours per week (flexible schedule).
- Must be able to work in person at our Provo office during business hours (M–F, 8 AM–5 PM).
- Occasional morning, evening or weekend events and meetings may be required.
- Internship duration: Mid-August to December 31 (flexible start/end dates)

Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative and research support to the Director of Individual Philanthropy, including:
- Event coordination for donor engagement events, including RSVP tracking, materials preparation, and post-event follow-up
- Data entry and donor tracking in Salesforce and event spreadsheets
- Campaign support for our year-end direct mail appeal, including assembling mailing lists and organizing collateral
- Research and documentation, including donor history and engagement opportunities
- File organization and maintenance in SharePoint

- Organized, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator
- Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office and willing to learn platforms like Salesforce and SharePoint
- Interested in a career in fundraising, nonprofit management, or donor engagement
