Overview:
Inventory Control
Monday- Friday, 8:30a-5p
Full-Time Benefits, 40 Hours/ Week

Shipping, receiving and inventory control are
a key function of this position. Pick, pack and ship items daily and recommending reorder quantities are daily responsibilities. This position manages warehouse organization and maintains inventory accuracy and availability at several locations. The individual verifies product counts and researches discrepancies, and serves as a member of the inventory team to identify losses and recommend corrective measures. Coordinates and controls the inventory functions related to supplies and equipment in the Home Medical Equipment
Responsibilities:
  • Schedules cycle counts throughout HME sites and ensures accuracy and accountability of inventory at all times through appropriate auditing practices.

  • Ensures that prudent buying practices through value analysis process for all supplies, equipment, project completion, construction, and services needed to support quality patient care in an efficient, timely and cost effective manner.
  • Proper execution of the functions ensures high quality patient care at the lowest possible impact cost to UnityPoint at Home.
  • Must be customer service oriented. Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations.
  • Assists Value Analysis Teams with information to determine specifications for selecting material
  • Consults with and provides counsel to all SOU affiliates to facilitate timely acquisition of supply and equipment needs and provide necessary information and guidance as requested.
  • Places orders with vendors, utilizing proper procedures that provide a clear audit trail of all transactions
  • Maintains a detailed audit trail of all transactions involving equipment, supplies or other materials that have been received, delivered or disposed.
  • Assists with providing proper and secure storage for all supplies, equipment or other materials.
  • Maintains appropriate inventory levels of supplies, equipment or other materials.
  • Answer the telephone, screen and route all incoming telephone calls to the appropriate person or take messages according to office policy and procedure.
  • Greet clients providing courteous, caring and professional assistance.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.
  • Behave in a manner consistent with Mission, Vision, Values and Expectations for Excellence.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, Accreditation Standards and Risk Management guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance with Personnel policies and procedures.
  • Behave in a manner consistent with all Corporate Compliance policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Purchasing Manager to facilitate the smooth and effective operations of the office.
  • Complete 1 VGMU course per month.
  • Meets measures as determined and required for job productivity and performance improvement.
  • Employee is responsible for completion of communication tasks and activities in a timely manner. This would include, but is not limited to: responding to email, voicemail or telephone messages, promptly, accurately, and professionally; attending staff meetings as scheduled or viewing videotapes of those meetings; asking questions of team members and supervisors when needing clarification about various day-to-day issues or patient needs; and reviewing employee communication pieces, to stay aware of UnityPoint at Home programs and initiatives.

Basic UPH Performance Criteria
  • Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
  • Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
  • Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
  • Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
  • Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Education
:

  • High School or Vocational School graduate or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Computer skills, MSWord, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
  • Ability to work as a collaborative team member.
  • Read, speak and write fluent English and perform simple arithmetic computations.
  • Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures.

  • Minimum two years previous experience in warehouse/inventory control in a medical setting.

License(s)/Certifi
cation(s):

  • Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
