What You’ll Do
The Global Transportation Manager will provide broad based leadership to craft and lead all aspects of the daily operations of Univar Solutions’ network of global logistics providers. Key results for the role will also include lead time reductions, landed costs reductions and establishment of new services to support import and export material sourcing requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of global shipping & transport (import & export) practices for ocean, air and multi-modal transportation modes
- Strong project development and leadership skills to lead cross functional, multi-cultural and globally based partners.
- Proven expertise in change management practices with internal and external partners (Ocean carriers, forwarders, NVOCC’s and 3PL partners.)
- Knowledge of emerging technology and supply chain enablers to streamline and optimize Univar Solutions’ global transportation network
- Development, management & communication of shipping forecasts & order management priorities with internal and external partners
- Active engagement with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, NVOCC’s and 3PL’s to support Univar Solutions global transportation requirements.
- Strategic and tactical management of carrier and material suppliers KPI’s and performance standards
- Collaboration with ITS leadership, commercial, product and external partners to gather and develop pricing & service proposals
- Collaborate closely with and align International Trade Services sustainability program to corporate objectives
- Initiate and own the negotiation of international shipping rates and logistic solutions for contractual and
Key Deliverables:
- Optimization of Univar’s global transportation network through end-to-end order management practices, order visibility and performance metrics
- Keen focus to develop landed cost and lead time reduction strategies
- Lead project and organizational change practices associated with streamlining of logistics processes and digital transformation initiatives.
- Orchestrate and lead LSP and Order Management programs Coordination
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to gather and provide data for global transportation and supplier performance analytics
- Develop ITS sustainability initiatives in alignment with corporate sustainability objectives
- Audit and oversee timely data & logistics milestone flows (manual and EDI) into appropriate systems
- Maintain timelines and deadlines Analyzation & Optimization
- Synthesize, analyze data and develop concrete strategies supporting capacity acquisition and management across all modes of transportation.
- Implement optimizations to benefit import and export programs
What You’ll Need
- Min. 8 years in leadership role responsible for the global management of international logistics operations (import & export), ocean & air carrier and 3PL networks
- Strong understanding of supply chain management practices, landed costs calculations, forecasting and modeling
- Bachelor’s degree required, with preference for concentration in supply chain/logistics, international trade or equivalent leader oversight of
- Demonstrated leadership of international freight procurement for ocean, air and multi-modal transportation
- Certifications in; PMP, NCBFAA Certifications (CCS, CES, MES), IATA, among
- Experienced in use of computer, MS office applications, Tableau, Visio or SAP equivalent ERP systemothers, is a plus. Training
