Diamond Grove Center is searching for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Worker for their facility.This position will be fulltime, with hours of operation being from 6:00am-3:00pm, Monday thru Friday.

As the Maintenance Worker for the facility,you will help with the up keeping of the facility grounds, as well as the facility buildings. Promotes a safe work environment for self, patients, and co-workers by complying with the environment of care, safety, and infection control standards and guidelines.Complies with hospital, departmental, safety and human resource policies. Represents the hospital in a manner which conveys a professional, courteous, caring and cooperative attituce. Is professional in image. Represents the hospital well and is always professional in attiutde and work. Makes a positive first impression.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
2. A minimum of five years maintenance experience.
3. Ability to read, writes, and follows written and oral instructions.
4. Must have the physical capacity and mobility to do heavy work-pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 pounds - over 50 pounds with assisted.

GENERAL PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

Maintenance Specialist

SPECIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

1. Basic knowledge in electrical wiring, plumbing, and HVAC.
2. Knowledge of fire and safety standards.
3. Ability to manage people and maintain budget(s).
4. Knowledge of Infection control issues.
5. Ability to read blue prints.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Overall physical workload is heavy. Must be able to transport, move heavy equipment up to 50 pounds. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others. Must be mobile throughout the facility and systems entities. Must be able to attend meetings as required Must be able to make daily rounds of the facility and report/repair findings for the safety of the employees and patients served. Position requires flexible hours. Frequent standing. Occasional conflict resolution: constant attention to multiple details. Frequent problem solving and decision making. Occasional exposure to stressful situations. Exposure to body fluids and disinfectants.
