What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Technology Teacher position at University Academy Charter High School?

UACHS is seeking a passionate and experienced Engineering Technology High School Teacher to join our vibrant learning community for the 2024-2025 school year.

About the Position:

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and challenging engineering technology curriculum aligned with state standards.
  • Utilize project-based learning and hands-on activities to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative skills in students.
  • Integrate technology effectively to enhance the teaching and learning process.
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student growth and achievement.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on industry trends and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology Education, or a related field.
  • New Jersey CE or Standard teaching certification in Technology Education.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a secondary school setting, preferably in Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and applications (e.g., CAD/CADD, 3-D printing).
  • Experience with project-based learning and hands-on activities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for inspiring and motivating students.

Position begins late August 2024 for the 2024-2025 school year. Candidates must hold at least a NJ Certificate of Eligibility for Teacher of Engineering Technology. Please send screenshot of certification status from NJDOE website.

Out-of-state candidates MUST have already initiated the reciprocity process with the NJDOE and submit screenshot of status from NJDOE website to be considered. Candidates must live in New Jersey or be planning to relocate to NJ.

Prospective candidates who have not yet applied for NJ certification can do so here: https://www.nj.gov/education/certification/. The NJDOE has waived application fees until June 30. Please do not apply until your application is fully submitted and under review by the NJDOE.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00 - $87,000.00 per year
