Description of the role
The Home Health Aide is responsible for providing assistance with daily living activities and personal care to clients in their homes. This includes but is not limited to bathing, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, medication reminders, and light housekeeping.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Help with meal planning, preparation, and feeding as necessary.
- Medication reminders
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including using mechanical and electronic lifting equipment.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and laundry.
- Document daily activities, observations, and any changes in client's condition.
- Report any concerns or issues to the supervisor.
Requirements
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Physical ability to lift and transfer clients.
