Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager Environmental Services will assist the Director Environmental Services to provide leadership, direction, and management oversight for continuous improvement of EVS operations within University Hospital. Provides staff leadership and makes sound business decisions in support of the hospital’s mission and vision. Assists the Director Environmental Services with the day-to-day operations of the department and ensures a consistently high level of cleanliness. This is a second or third shift position.
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree required, plus four (4) years of experience in environmental services, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting required, including at least one (1) year of supervisory experience required. Must have excellent organizational, customer service, interpersonal and communication skills. Must be proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to understand and put into action basic infection control procedures. Ability to handle and mix chemicals safely and properly. Demonstrated ability to promote a work environment that fosters positive energy, creativity, and teamwork among colleagues across all functional areas. This is a second or third shift position. Must be able to work every other weekend and holidays. Additional related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
