What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrician I position at University Hospital?
The primary purpose of the Electrician I position is to take lead in maintaining primary and secondary electrical systems in the facility. Installs, tests, repairs, and replaces lights and power circuitry, electrical and electronic equipment, alarm systems and electric motors, machinery, and appliances. Ensures work is done in compliance with local, state, and national codes. Directs other mechanics and helpers. Technical school diploma or equivalent level of knowledge plus a minimum of five (5) years of progressively more responsible experience as an electrician, at least three (3) years of which shall have involved taking the lead in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems.
